Hi there, everyone!

Tết, otherwise known as Vietnamese Lunar New Year, is the biggest festival in Vietnam. During this season, families gather together to reflect on the past year and celebrate the upcoming one. Tết holds sentimental value for us for its many unique practices, for instance, Xông Đất (visiting another family on the first day of the Lunar New Year), Lì Xì (lucky money), visiting pagodas, visting ancestors’ graves, or ancestral worshipping.

Here in Eugene, VSA would like to celebrate the Lunar New Year and spread the festive spirit among the community by hosting a Tết Celebration. The event will take place on the 26th of January, from 6 to 8.30 p.m at LLC Hall at the University of Oregon. There will be free traditional celebratory Vietnamese food as well as games at this free event, so come and join the fun!
