First, I would like to thank everyone who made Silent Auction a successful event on behalf of VSA! We raised about $250 last Wednesday. You will make some children in Vietnam very happy, for sure.
It’s only 5 weeks until VSA Culture Night 2012. If you want to help us make props or if you want to perform, don’t hesitate to contact us at vsa@uoregon.edu. For 2 hours of volunteers, you will get a free T-shirt and three VSA buttons. For 4 hours of volunteers, you will get those mentioned items and a free ticket to the show.
Also, Off Yello, a magazine from APASU is looking for submission. Its topic is Friends and Family, so if you have any artworks that you would love to share, please submit to Eri Mizobe at emizobe@uoregon.edu. The deadline is March 4th, which is the coming Sunday.
This week, VSA and APASU will have a joint meeting on Wednesday and Thursday at 5pm in Multicultural Center. This is our very first joint meeting with APASU this year. Both groups have agreed to bring forth the topic of Asian American identity for discussion. We will be touching on a wide range of issues that exist within our own ethnic group in America such as social status, generational gaps, stereotypes as well as interracial politics.
That’s all I have for now. Stay tuned for more exciting updates from VSA. We’ll rock your world pretty soon 😉
Have a great Tuesday and an awesome week!
